Mahan’s Southwest Gourmet Sauce™

Was born as a response to a family crisis. Louise and Blair Mahan retired to El Paso, Texas in 1979 after a 35-year career in the U.S. Army and State Department.

Robert their son moved to El Paso from San Diego, California to care for his elderly parents in 1987. Joyce their daughter joined Robert in 1991. It became increasingly difficult for Robert to provide the 24-hour care required by his parents and also holding a full time job. In crisis mode he then started making the family secret sauce recipe to generate an income.

The recipe evolved from Louise, who would have turned 100 in 2013, She would use the sauce to doctor up the flavor of her family’s meals to make them interesting and delicious.

With limited ingredients available in the United States, she imported them from places like Japan, France, Africa, Asia and the middle East. She created a sauce that can be used on anything you can imagine.

Use the sauce on the grill or in the oven or as a dip on poultry, pork, beef, seafood, soups, casseroles, marinades other sauces or anything you desire.

I welcome your comments and your recipes. Which we will post on our website.
